[That delay, the mention of their contract, and Tim's warning of Legato and Knives talking about causing harm more often again. There is something that leaves Vash still feeling unsettled about this whole thing.]

Are you working right now? Could I come over?

I can come to you if that would be more comfortable for you.

[Vash head straight there. Stomach turning in knots as he's swayed between guilt and the starting suspicion he was feeling. He didn't like it. He didn't want to be feeling this way, but he needed to know. His hope is that looking to his brother's eyes he'll be able to tell if he's lying or not and hopefully being in this spot will remind Knives of the growth they were sharing as a family. Or at least Vash hopes it might keep his brother's anger in check enough to not lash out too violently if he takes offence to Vash's questions.

So he wants. The tension and nervousness coming off him in waves should be easy enough for his brother to pick up on.]

[Knives approaches Vash without any of the emotions his brother is feeling. He looks almost bored.]

Vash?

Knives-- [Vash's eyes dart from looking towards his brother when he approaches then back towards the ground. Still feeling guilty for this unease he was feeling. Taking a deep breath he forces himself to look Knives in the eyes again.] I'm sorry, but I have to ask; was the delay in contracting with me again really because of Legato? [Vash's eyes are sharp. Looking for any twitch or indication that whatever answer he's about to get could be a lie.]

[Knives's eyes narrow at the question.]

It was. In a way.

In what way, Knives? I'm in no mood for games right now.

He was asleep. I needed to wait for him to wake up.

I don't see why that meant you couldn't sign a contract with me right away again.

[arkfall]

Because I needed to speak with him before I would do that, and I couldn't speak with him while he was sleeping.

About putting him first instead of me? Is that what you were really doing? [He doesn't answer the second question.]

Yeah? How did you let him know that? [Is this what it's like talking to him? No wonder his friends get so annoyed at him.]

[He raised his brow at that.] Do you want me to go into detail about our sex, Vash? I got a distinct feeling that disgusted you.

[Look at how quickly Vash's face goes red. It shocks him so much that he blurts out without thinking.] I know you've been talking to Legato more about violence and killing, Knives. I want to know why?

[Knives's brow raises at that. How exactly does his brother know that?]

It gets him off.

[Vash's mouth forms a hard line as he keeps a strong grip of his emotions now. Not wanting Knives to feel that small bit of hope rising in him. Maybe it is just talk?]

Have you been hurting people? To get him off?

[arkfall]

Of course not.

[He rolls his eyes at the implication.

He and Legato had killed people for hurting Vash. The fact that they had both gotten off on it was just a bonus.]
